Assignment Brief and Guidance -

Scenario: Now that we have evaluated the HR policies of those within the Arcadia Group, you will now present a portfolio of documents required to carry out recruitment and selection procedures with reference to the issues highlighted by #MeToo and Philip Green's reputation.

Assessment requirements: The aim of this assessment is to create recruitment and selection document portfolios for a number of positions and as a team apply the recruitment and selection process via interview simulations using the said portfolios. The team will consist of a maximum of THREE members).

Part A

1. The design of a job specification and selection criteria for one of the following positions in the for one of the businesses within the Arcadia Group:

Marketing Manager
HR Administrator
Shop floor Assistant
Diversity Officer

2. Each member of the team must provide a document that clearly indicates the essential and desirable skills required by the applicant

3. Documentation of preparatory notes for interviews, interview notes based on selection criteria and a justified decision of the candidate selected.

4. A job offer / rejection letter template.

Part B

Following the creation of the recruitment and selection portfolio and completing the practical activity to select and recruit staff for a company within the Arcadia Group; you will produce an essay to critically evaluate the new Employment Relations and Human Resources Management processes and practices applied within this assessment. You will include the processes and practices which enabled you to carry out a fair assessment of the interview candidates and what factors influenced your decision-making throughout the process, making reference to changes made in light of the allegations made against Philip Green (designing the documents within the portfolios to make a job offer).
